Hi everybody, my name is Corey Stewart and I'm a singer/songwriter/musician/blogger from Adelaide, Australia.

Normally you can find me on http://www.coreystewartonline.com which is a WordPress site but today I'm going to trial a new experiment. This is my first post using Posterous, a rival blogging platform to WordPress.

Why am I doing this experiment I hear you ask?

Well, I have a theory that having a wide ranging online presence is essential to the development of an online profile, a profile that will eventually generate traffic to my main site http://www.coreystewartonline.com and therefore convert visitors into fans of my music which will ultimately generate sales of my products whether it be from CD's to merchandise and everything else in between.

The secondary reason for this experiment is that through posting the relevant news of the day based on my topics of interest plus the wide ranging ideas of others I will become more inspired and therefore my own blogging activity will increase. Everybody wins!

Now I've been told by a number of friends of mine that Posterous is awesome so I'm going to put this blogging platform to the test.

Using its "AutoPost" option I'm going to put up here all of the relevant and interesting information on Songwriting, Home Recording and the Music Business that I find through my daily use of the web and through the many RSS feeds that I subscribe to.

This is to be a collection of knowledge that is not necessarily mine but something that I want to integrate into my own professional musical/creative life.

The AutoPost function on Posterous allows what I post here to appear automatically on other blogging platforms and social networking sites that I subscribe to. Once I publish this post it will also go to the following sites
